Set up a transition stinger in OBS or Streamlabs
A stinger is a short video with a transparent background that plays over your scenes. The important setting is the moment the scene changes, while the screen is covered.
- 01
Open the transitions
In OBS, in the Scene Transitions panel, click the plus. In Streamlabs Desktop, open the settings then Scene Transitions.
- 02
Choose the Stinger type
Name it, then select the stinger's WebM file.
- 03
Set the transition point
This is the moment, in milliseconds, when the screen is fully covered. For our stingers, the value is given with each file.
- 04
Set the duration and test
Keep the video's duration and try it by switching scenes. If you can see the change before the screen is covered, raise the transition point a little.
- 05
Use it as the default transition
Or link it to specific scenes in Streamlabs, for example the switch from the game to the break screen.
