How to add alerts on Streamlabs
The Alert Box is the Streamlabs widget that shows an animation and plays a sound when someone follows you, subscribes, donates or raids your channel. You set it up from Streamlabs Desktop or from the dashboard on streamlabs.com, with the same account.
- 01
Connect your Twitch account
In Streamlabs Desktop, sign in with your Twitch account. The same account gives you access to the dashboard on streamlabs.com.
- 02
Add the Alert Box to the scene
In the Sources area, click the plus, pick Alert Box in the menu that opens, then click “Add Source” to add it to your scene.
- 03
Open the settings
Open the widget settings from its source, or sign in on streamlabs.com and click Alert Box under “Streaming essentials” on the left. It is the same settings page either way: it is tied to your account. Click “Save Settings” at the bottom right before you move to another entry in the left menu.
- 04
Set up each alert type
Your platform (Twitch) shows up in the left menu: click it, then pick an event (follows, subscriptions, bits, raids…). Streamlabs donations have their own entry. Turn on the ones you want with the toggle, then pick the animation, the sound, the duration and the message. The “Live Preview” button shows your changes as you make them. For donations, you also need to have set up how you receive them in Streamlabs.
- 05
Place the alert in the scene
Move the widget to where the alert should appear and adjust its size with the handles. Keep it above your game capture.
- 06
Test each alert
In Streamlabs Desktop, click “Test Widgets” and pick the event type to see the alert in your scene. On the Alert Box page of the dashboard, the test menu is at the top right. Trigger a fake alert of each type, then set the sound volume in the mixer.
